Anfang November sendete BBC Radio 4 eine lose Fortsetzung des „Neverwhere „Hörspiels von 2013 (PID des Hörspiels b080xppt). Ich habe das Neverwhere BBC Hörspiel 2013 gehört und auch das Buch gelesen, kann mich aber nur noch wage erinnern. Die Geschichte ist keine, die wirklich in Erinnerung bleibt, aber sich in Anglistikinstituten durchaus einer gewissen Beliebtheit erfreut und rege diskutiert wird.Der Marquis wurde wohl am Ende von Neverwhere ermodet, indem ihm die Kehle durchgeschnitten wurde. Er und sein Mantel wurden auf dem floating market verkauft. Warum er nun wieder unter den Lebenden weilt, wird nicht erklärt und ich kann mich nicht mehr daran erinnern. Es gibt nämlich leider keine kurze Zusammenfassung, wie es zur aktuellen Situation kam. Wenn man die Geschichte nicht kennt, muss man den Status quo einfach akzeptieren und versuchen zu verstehen, was in diesem Hörspiel passiert.Nun will der Marquis seinen schicken Zaubermantel mit den vielen Taschen wieder zurückbekommen. Den haben aber die Shepherds und die sind gefährlich.Das Hörspiel ist top besetzt, die Sprecher sind wirklich toll, die Soundkulisse stimmig und sogar das komplette Script ist online kostenlos erhältlich. Man könnte die Geschichte also teilweise als listening comprehension Übung verwenden, wenn, ja wenn die Geschichte nicht die Vorkenntnis des „Neverwhere“ Hörspiels von 2013 voraussetzen würde. Ohne diese Vorkenntnisse oder weil man sich an das Hörspiel einfach nicht mehr sonderlich gut erinnert, treibt man durch die Geschichte und nimmt einfach zur Kenntnis, dass hier eine seltsame magische Welt mit skurilen Personen beschrieben wird, deren Regeln sich einem nach und nach enthüllen aber unverständlich bleiben.Vielleicht kann ich daher auch die Begeisterung für dieses Hörspiel, die bei Neil Geiman Fans besteht, nicht nachvollziehen. Es passiert halt einfach nicht viel bis gar nichts. Der Marquis macht sich auf die Suche nach seinem Mantel, begegnet Leute, denen er geschadet hat und muss dafür büßen und schließt mit einigen Frieden. Nett, mehr auch nicht. Wohl eher ein Hörspiel für die Fans der Reihe.
